Our Subjects
We specialize in 1:1 instruction for K-12 students. We exclusively offer Math, ELA, and SAT as subjects for our students. Our teachers specialize in math or ELA and able to teach Elementary, Middle, and High School.

Subject Assessments
To ensure the highest quality teachers for our students, we require teachers to complete and pass subject assessments in the subjects listed below. You have one chance to pass the assessment, so take your time to ensure the best outcome.

SAT and ACT Test Prep
To qualify to teach SAT and ACT Test Prep with ClassUp, you must be able to provide proof of your own test scores. Your combined SAT score must be above 1450 out of a 2400 scale, with a minimum score of 720 for each component. An equivalent ACT score if acceptable as well. Our teachers must be able to teach both Math and Reading/Writing components.

Subjects and Assessment FAQs
Am I required to take all of the Subject Assessments?
You are only required to take the subject assessments for confirmed subject areas and grades in which you would like to teach.
Example: If you ONLY wish to teach Elementary Math, you are ONLY required to take the K-8 Math Subject assessment
What if I do not pass the Subject Assessment?
You are only eligible to take the subject assessment once. If you do not receive a passing score, you are no longer eligible to teach that subject and grade band. However, you are still eligible to teach the other age groups confirmed during your interview as long as you pass the corresponding assessment.

What if I no longer want to teach a subject I confirmed during the interview? Am I still required to take the subject assessment.
No, you are not required to take subject assessment for a subject you do not wish to teach. You can reach out to us at recruit@classup.com to let us know you no longer wish to tutor a specific subject and we can adjust your Tutor Profile accordingly.
